HackSoc is part of the University of Nottingham Student Union. This privacy policy will explain how we will use the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.

What data do we collect?
- Personal identification information (Name, email address, university, etc)
- A copy of your CV (if provided to us)

How do we collect your data?
You directly provide HackSoc with most of the data we collect. We collect your data when you:
- Register for a ticket for HackNotts.

How will we use your data?
HackSoc collects your data so we can:
- Monitor the demographic of students that attend HackNotts
- Provide our event sponsors with CVs if they request them.

If you agree, HackSoc will share your data with event sponsors so they may contact you:
- Frasers Group
- Hackathons UK

How do we store your data?
HackSoc securely stores your data on Tito, from where the tickets for HackNotts are bought. We will keep your data for a year. Once this time has passed, we will delete your data by removing all tickets for the event from our Tito account.

Marketing:
HackSoc would like to send you updates about HackNotts as it comes up and to also send a request for feedback after the event.
If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.
You have the right at any time to stop HackSoc from contacting you for marketing purposes.

What are your data protection rights?
HackSoc would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights.
Every user is entitled to the following:
- The right to access- You have the right to request HackSoc for copies of your personal data.
- The right to rectification- You have the write to request that HackSoc correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request HackSoc to complete information you believe is incomplete.
- The right to erasure - You have the right to request that HackSoc erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
- The right to restrict processing - You have the right to request that HackSoc restrict the processing of your personal data under certain conditions.
- The right to object to processing- You have the right to object to HackSoc's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
- The right to data portability- Youhave the right to request that HackSoc transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
